equipment:
usbchipprogrammer SN:0001694 w/o external psu.
progexpress ver 1.2.0
flash ram SST 49FL004B-33-4C-NHE SN:0545002-C

troubles:
when i try to "verify sourse chip signature" progexpress wrote "chip signature doesnt fit the selected chip expected:BFh 60h, read:49h 4Dh" ... but when i start read data, the context is exact like readed via mobo awdflash result ... the next one trouble when i try to erase chip progexpress reports that erase is ok, but fails the "check if chip is empty" ... can any1 explane me what is my trouble: programmer, flash ic, absence of external psu, or maybe bad 40->40 adapter?

With Regards Necro AKA Alex V. Prisacari

Hello!

I am sorry, but there is no SST 49FL004B in Prog-Express V1.20. Did you choose any other chip (perhaps PM49FL004)? If yes, this will explain the signature difference and the problem with erasing the chip.

Please let me know if you could send us a sample of this chip or if you could make some tests if we send you a database update.

Regards,
André Bauer

Hi!

Okay, you mean 49LF004B not 49FL004B as you wrote above. The 49LF004B is in the database already. We will recheck it and let you know...

SST39SF020A-70-4C-NH w/PLCC 32 -> DIP 32 adapter = all ok, verify signature ok, but SST 49LF004B with the same adapter still won't to erase\write

Updated:
PLC Pm39F040-70JC (isn't in list) is erase\rewrite done with SST39SF040 definition

The same, like SST49LF, trouble with PMC Flash Pm49FL002T-33JC (isn't in list, used definition from PMC Flash Pm49FL002-33JC) ... can't erase this type of flash ... maybe i need different plcc->dip adapter for 49x series?

Updated:
SST39SF040-70-4C-NH, erase\write ok verify chip signature failed
expected BF B7, read F1 EF

Dear Necro,

Thank you very much for your detailed information! We have tested all chips and got the following results:

Programmer: USB Chip Programmer
Software: Prog-Express V1.2.1 (will be released soon)
Adapter: PLCC32-DIP32 1:1

Chip: SST39SF020A-70-4C-NH: Everything ok.

Chip: Pm39F010/Pm39F020/Pm39F040: Added to the list.

Chip: SST49LF004B - We don't have a sample chip for testing but however I thing we found a possible problem nevertheless. Fixed with Prog-Express version 1.2.1.

SST39SF040-70-4C-NH: Fixed with Prog-Express version 1.2.1

Chip: Pm49FL020T-33JC: We don't have a sample chip for testing and we can't find any problem with the datasheet only. If possible, please send us a sample chip.

If you send us an email we can reply with the actual Prog-Express beta version for testing. Otherwise you can download the official release version 1.2.1 in the mid of next week.

Best regards,
André

unfortunately i cant send u chip sample, cuz as i told before, i didnt use programmer for commercial multiplication, just as one of the motherboard repair tool.

i'm very glad to become beta-tester ^_^ u can send me new version's (or maybe download link) to necro[at]mail.ru or necrosy[at]gmail.com and i notify my test results asap.

Updated:
49LF004B 33-4c-NH = all ok with 1.2.1
Pmc Pm49FL002T-33JC/JCE, Pm49FL004T-33JC - still not working

please include winbound w39/49V series to database, if it is possible

Pmc Pm49FL002T-33JC, Pm49FL004T-33JC - done with SST49LF004B profile ...
but write process is very slow (and some logic errors with 2Mbit flash cuz of buffer and chip size missmatch ... SST49LF002A & SST49LF002 profiles doesnt work for 2Mbit Pmc chip )
