I have a BX32P programmer (firmware 02.09) and Prog-Express V2.2.1.1 trying to program a Pm49FL004T-33JCE chip with no success. I have a 1:1 32 pin DIL to 32 pin PLCC adaptor
I have two chips - a new empty one and an old partially programmed one. The programmer incorrectly identifies the chips and comes up with the contents of the lowest three memory locations instead of the chip ident. The programmer can read both, but I cannot clear the old one or write to either of them.
When clearing the old chip it fails at 40% with the error message "Error while erasing chip!". Clearing the new chip appears to work OK.
When trying to write to the new chip it fails at 1% with the error message "Programming error at address: 0 / 0h
Expected: CAh, read: FFh" (I am trying to write CAh to this location).
I hope someone can help me with this

Hi!

Thanks for your detailed information! Please check if you inserted the adapter correctly first.

Does the programmng of other chips (if available) work properly?

I am sorry, but we don't have a PM49FL004 sample here to test the algorithms. I have just asked PMC (Chingistek) for chip samples. If we can get samples of these chips, we can verify the algorithms here.

Regards,
André

Thanks for your reply.
The programmer is used mostly to program A290021T-55F chips and works fine for this (programmed one this morning just to check).
I don't have any different PLCC32 chips to try, so have not been able to prove the adaptor works, although I have verified twice that it is pin 1 > pin1, pin 2 > pin2 etc and there are no shorts between pins.
Hope this helps sort my problem out
Best Regards

Hi!

We have got some PM49FL004T samples and tried the programmer with them. There was a timing problem which we have fixed now. Please download the actual Prog-Express version from our website. The PM49FL004T should work properly now.

Andre,
Thanks very much.
I was able to program the Pm49FL004T-33JCE with the latest version of software/firmware, so the problem is solved.
Best Regards
